Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, BC is a spectacular location in the Canadian Rocky Mountains to plan your wedding. The stunning turquoise waters of the lake was the jumping off point for our photoshoot design for the Calgary Bridal Guide. Turquoise is steeped in history and symbolism. A yellow undertone illuminates this blue-green hue, otherwise known as teal, giving it an uplifting and vibrant quality. Turquoise glows in natural settings, especially paired with earthy neutrals like sienna and burnt amber.
Turquoise is also a gemstone very important to the Navajo culture and paired perfectly as the theme for this design. There are such interesting Navajo patterns and shapes. Antlers have become a design signature for us at Mountain Bride and they paired perfectly with this design. We used irregular shaped rich wood charger plates on top of black place mats. With such rich colors we decided to go more earthly with the flowers, using lots of succulents in rusty planters.
The stationary suite was stunning and such a great way to bring in the unique Navajo shape. The details were to perfection in the invitations, RSVP, place cards, menus, and table numbers.
