Mountain Bride is very honored to be trusted as your Chateau Lake Louise Wedding Planner.
Cathy & David came all the way from New York to Lake Louise to be married at the gorgeous Chateau Lake Louise. The views are epic and the service world class! Their guests came from various locations around the world and travel is very important to Cathy and David, thus for the design we decided to name the tables after places they have been or places they want to travel to.
Mountain Bride was honored to create their wedding ceremony and reception design. Cathy’s favourite color is blue and bright fuscia, so that became the starting point for the design concept. She also loves peonies and who doesn’t! May is the perfect time of year to have a peony filled wedding. Fuscia peonies are gorgeous at this time of year and mixing with a few soft pink peonies and garden roses created the most gorgeous brides bouquet! We worked with the uber talented Lyn Chapman from Flower Artistry for all of the flower design.
The wedding ceremony was held on the Lakeview Terrace down near the lake with epic views of the glacier. This view is stunning, the perfect backdrop for saying I Do. A Chateau Lake Louise wedding down by the lake does come with tourist challenges, as every tourist that visits Lake Louise also wants a front row seat to this picture perfect backdrop. Our Mountain Bride team has gotten pretty great at keeping the hundreds of tourist back from your ceremony to keep it as private as is possible in a very public space. And you can see from the photos that we do a great job of keeping them out of the photos as much as is possible.
The reception was held if the Victoria Ballroom, a grand luxurious space. Cathy & David had a sweetheart headtable, a nice way for the Bride & Groom to have precious moments together on their wedding day. We also setup 2 chairs on either side to encourage guests to come and chat with them in between the sumptuous three course dinner.
David comes from a Jewish family and Cathy’s heritage is Korean, so customs from both cultures were incorporated into the day. Before the ceremony they gathered their closest family for the signing of the Ketubah. It was a beautiful hand painted canvas that they will cherish in their home. The Jewish chuppah was carried by four close friends down the ceremony aisle and made a beautiful canopy over their ceremony. My favourite Jewish custom is the Horah, is a type of circle dance! Our band, Side One, kicked off the dance with the most lively Horah dance that energized everyone and got the dance floor packed. To start the dance, everybody forms a circle, holding hands or interlocking arms behind their backs or on their shoulders and steps forward toward the right with the left foot, then follows with the right foot. The left foot is then brought back, followed by the right foot. This is done while holding hands and circling together in a fast and cheerful motion to the right. To finish off the dance they raised David and Cathy on chairs, both were terrified they would end the dance flat on their faces. No one fell, but from that point on Side One kept the dance floor packed.
